What to Expect
That 190 versus 250 hour difference is the clearest financial argument for training in a Part 141 program, and it is why the certification is worth caring about. The commercial also requires ten hours in a complex, turbine-powered or technically advanced airplane. In our case, that is a complex aircraft — retractable gear and a constant-speed propeller. We own a Piper PA-28R-201 Arrow, so you do not have to go and buy those hours somewhere else.
Commercial is as far as our training goes. If your goal is the airlines, the route from here is the commercial certificate followed by hour-building, most commonly as a flight instructor.
