Since 1960, the Piper PA-28 Cherokee has proven to be a reliable flight trainer for schools around the world. With a spacious interior and 48 gallons of usable fuel, the Cherokee makes flight training a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Eight Cherokees with varying engine performance and instrument panels provide ideal aircrafts for Private, Instrument, and Commercial training.
For non-SCCC students, aircraft rates start at $159/hr. Dual instruction rates start at $75/hr.

The Cherokee 140 serves as our baseline trainer. Burning 7-8 gallons per hour, this cost-effective airplane provides excellent handling characteristics at slower speeds, allowing students to master their stick-and-rudder skills without being overwhelmed by fast speeds and complex systems.

The PA-28-151 and -161 “Warrior” provides a quiet, spacious cabin, as well as a larger engine, allowing for faster cruise speeds. Most pilots describe the Warrior as one of the easiest planes to land, and responds smoothly to control inputs. With all the same systems as the smaller Cherokee 140s, the Warrior is easy for any new pilot to transition to.

The Archer takes the larger, sleeker design of the Warrior and upgrades it with a 180-horsepower engine. This plane will not only provide some of the fastest cruise speed of a non-complex airplane, but also the best takeoff performance of any PA-28 you’ll fly. Our Archer is certified for flight in instrument conditions, and is primarily used for instrument training.

The PA-28R “Arrow” is the complex version of the PA-28. This means the airplane features retractable landing gear and a constant speed prop, allowing the propeller to adjust its blade angle with changes in airspeed, resulting in more efficient flight. Because of these features, our Arrow is primarily used for commercial pilot training.
